A Jack snipe was observed foraging close to a single common snipe at dusk, allowing a direct comparison of size, pattern and foraging action. Also, 24 teal, 82 mallard, 2 Canadas and 4 redwings. The mute swans have departed from the south pool.

Nice one Rob. Far higher totals than the ones I managed for my WeBS count earlier in the day . . . and I was inside the fence! I managed 3 Commmon Snipe on the edge of the pool, but no Jacks. The Swans are now on Lisvane.
Hi Dan, there was a lot of flying in and out by the ducks so presumably new arrivals since the morning. Lucky view of the jack snipe -first time I’ve seen one on the deck for ages!
