PB has suggested I look again at the ‘adult’ – the grey bird whilst appearing lighter and smaller than the two buffy juveniles is also a juvenile that has advanced in plumage to 1st winter when it loses the warm buff colouration. September 17, 2014 at 09:59 Reply

They are all juveniles, just variations in plumage.
