Lol Middleton found an interesting gull on E lake this morning which seems to show characteristics of Caspian Gull although I’m not familiar with the species in early plumage stages. Any thoughts? It wouldn’t abandon the middle of the lake for me so these are the best two cropped pix I could manage.

PS just after I took these, there werecanoeists launching although when I had finished walking the dog they and gone but most of the gulls resolutely stuck to the centre of the lake and I struggled to relocate the bird as I only had bins. Sadly it didn’t take flight at any point.
Not sure if the dark muddy plumage is a camera effect, but it does not really do it for me sorry.
Barry, no it was v dark which is why we had doubts. Phil B has said on FB, LBBG. Worth a shout tho’.
