I find Goldfinches quite fickle. In my garden they won’t touch nyger seed. (It starts sprouting in the feeders). They go straight for the sunflower seeds. Must admit I’ve never seen them taking peanuts.
We have had one in our garden feeding on the detritus at the bottom of the peanut feeder, but not actually nibbling at the nuts themselves.
