An odd record of a dipper at Lisvane Reservoir this morning -initially perched on the steel security fencing at the car park, then flew off high to the west! This was my first record at the reservoirs. Also (probably of interest only to Lisvane aficionados) 14 moorhens on Lisvane res was a personal best.

I’m sure you already know Rob that Dippers were known to visit the reservoirs in winter until the mid 1930’s but not thereafter. I never saw one in all my regular visits from 1964 -the 1980’s…nice to have one back! Steve Y.
