A Little Egret, perched up in a tree on one of the islands, was the highlight of today’s Wetland Bird Survey (WeBS) at the lake. Also there: a female Goldeneye; Teal (7); Tufted Duck (94); Pochard (11); Mallard (65); Coot (58); Moorhen (11); G C Grebe (3); Mute Swan (56); Canada Goose (36); Cormorant (10) and Grey Wagtail (2).
Nice to hear the egret is still there – I got blurry photos last week.
And presumably the 2 resident barnacle geese and 3 muscovies were still there, though not in your list?
Only managed 1 barnacle goose this time. I usually get 2 on my WeBS counts. Just the 2 muscovies 🙂
