Hawfinch in the garden yesterday evening – stayed for 30 minutes or so – and again early this morning. Seemed interested in the bird feeders without being able to work out how to use them. Very exciting!

Nice one Francis. You said in your email this was in Pitton – is that Pitton Cross on the Gower? If so I believe this is an amazing record although I’m not an expert on West Glamorgan records.
Yes that is a great record – I only know of 5 other Gower records, the last one being 10 years ago.
i should have been more explicit on the location which is Pitton nr Rhossili, as in grid ref SS429881
