Attracted by loud typical calls, 3 probable Cranes flying over Upper Killay, Swansea at 19.00h in approx SW direction. Poor views, flying away from me, no bins, but please keep a look out.

Flock ca 30 Waxwings from first light still at The Range, Winchwen, feeding on good berry trees. Lots of observers.

30+ Waxwings at The Range (Old Winchwen store) and adjoining side road. Flew off 0930ish but likely to return for very good berry trees. Several observers.

2 Crossbills, Wood Warbler in full song, GS Woodpecker juv, Siskin, Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Goldcrest, Song Thrush and usual woodland species.

Regular small groups of Manx Shearwater passing, mainly west.
Small numbers of Guillemot and a large raft of Auk sp. far out.
Few Gannets and Fulmar. 2 Ringed Plover, Little Egret, Grey Heron. No Terns seen.
Lesser and Common Whitethroat, Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Yellowhammer, many Stonechats and Linnets with young. 2 Chough, Buzzard, Rock Pipits.

Tawny Owls very vocal here recently.
Very calm and quiet last night, usual female type calls very close, then second call, unusual (to me) – very soft, prolonged, ‘shivering’ and repeated call, a bit reminiscent of drumming Snipe.

2 Whinchat, 4+ Stonechat, 9+ Wheatear, 1 Blackcap, 11+ Chough.
Few Buzzard, 1 Kestrel, 1 Sparrowhawk.
Large random movement of Meadow Pipits & a few Skylarks & Swallows.
North Gower (with Will W-D)
Llanrhidian marsh: 1 Wheatear, lots of Swallows & a few House Martins.
Crofty marsh: 1 Yellow Wagtail around horses, Chiffchaff singing.
Salthouse: Australian Shelduck male!! (No rings) Feeding on mud at low water.

Few Gannets, Sandwich Tern, Curlew, distant Auk sp, Med Gull, 2 Ringed Plovers and a single Eider juvenile just off rocky beach.

Choughs in small groups, maximum 6 together. No rings visible.
