2 or more Sand Martin that side of bay and a sparrowhawk being chased by crows  and a herring gull and disturbing the pigeons in the few remaining trees between the Paget Road park and Penarth Marina

Pair of goldcrest in the park and a single waxwing sat in a tree next to A4232 between the Lamby lake roundabout and the flyover

Two stonechat. First I’ve seen down here and a kingfisher

Sparrowhawk. Looked quite a large one circling over the aviary then heading off.

Dipped on yesterday’s wheatear which is the story of my spring but spent some time trying to distinguish White from Pied Wagtail and was surprised to come across a gorgeous Yellow Wagtail.

Pair of Goldcrest flitting around in a big pine were a nice bonus on a sunny walk through the park.

Black Redstart flitting between the roof of the White House by the Captains Wife and a telephone wire.

Siskin, Goldfinch and Long Tailed Tit in the lane towards St Mary’s Well.

Chiffchaff at the Lavernock nature reserve and a Green Woodpecker by the ruined anti aircraft battery. Foraging on the ground then up into nearby trees.

Also what looked like a partially albino sparrow (white mottled head and white bars on the wings ) sparrow colouration otherwise on the coast path on past the battery. Doubt it was anything particularly unusual

One Goldcrest in the small group of trees at the opposite end of the lake from the carpark.

Reed Bunting singing in the reeds at the same end and several Great Crested Grebe displaying. Plus the usual Moorhen, Coot, Tufted Duck etc.
