Lsr Scaup lookalike was among c.165 Tufted Ducks at the far end of the reserve from the boardwalk 10:45. 7 Goosander on Taff Embankment.

A fem type Black Redstart was catching flies on the roof of Ty Gwalia (Chandler Quay) on the balcony facing Pont y Werin (14:00). The ad male Black Redstart with a protruding loose neck feather is still present in the courtyard of Penarth Marina. 2 Scaup still in CBWR towards the far end from the boardwalk, and also a Chiffchaff. Update 16:00: from Julian Swan: 4 Scaup, 3 Gooseander, 1 Wigeon from the boardwalk.

Red b Merganser found by Mathew Meehan showed well off Prospect Place but mobile 10:00.Still a single Scaup in the middle of the bay 11:15. An ad male Black Redstart in Penarth Marina in the three sided courtyard in the rear of Plas Taliesin. Still a fem Wheatear by the fish pass.

The first ad.male Black Redstart this autumn around Plas Taliesin/Penarth Marina also with a fem/imm together. Another fem/imm in Roath Basin in the rear of the GloWorks on the wooden blocks. A Wheatear and a Stonechat on the barrage.

The hybrid resembling Lsr Scaup was showing much more clearly this morning and was obviously a hybrid. Also present was a Shoveler pair, a Teal, 3 Stonechats around the flower patch, 3 calling and singing Chiffchaffs and a fox scrambled out from under the boardwalk.

Looks like the Lsr Scaup is back at the far end of the reserve from the boardwalk.But the nail looks bigish, maybe a hybrid.
