Lsr Whitethroat singing this morning near the two picnic tables by the dog-leg in the path, and seen to fly across the dock to bushes beyond the World of Boats by the side of Doctor Who.

Lsr Whitethroat singing and showing well from the tarmacadam boundary path just inside the north entrance adjacent to the gasholder grounds.

A Lsr Whitethroat was singing from cover from the boardwalk along the hedge and trees of the yacht club towards the flyover but seems to have moved on. 7 Common Sandpipers (3+2+1+1), 4 Sedge Warblers including one in bushes near to St.David’s Hotel boardwalk, a Snipe, the yellow-dyed Shelduck and the Lsr Scaup all present.

Common Whitethroat in Hamadryad Park singing from cover around the ‘pond’.
In CBWR, Lsr Scaup, Common Sandpiper, 4-5 singing Reed Warblers and at least 1 Sedge Warbler.

Iceland Gull again on The Marl playimg fields 07:30-08:45 viewed from Ferry Road.
Grangemoor Park/Cardiff Bay
Common Whitethroat showing well by the path along the river. In CBWR, now two Reed Warblers, and the Lsr Scaup still present very near the boardwalk at 07:00. A Common Sandpiper and 18 Turnstones were by Plas Taliesin.

Common Sandpiper at the far end of the reserve from the boardwalk. Lsr Scaup flew in again at 10:45 and came very close to the boardwalk.

The drake Lsr Scaup flew in at 10:25. A few minutes later, a male Wheatear appeared on the gravel path by the dipping pond.

Sedge Warbler still present but keeping low and singing intermittently.2 Water Rails on the grass track through the main reedbed. On Tuesday 36 GCG on the reserve and the Gooseander pair by Hamadryad Park were mating.

Lsr Scaup still present by St.David’s Hotel boardwalk. 3 Willow Warblers singing in Hamadryad/CBWR and a silent one which looks good for WW. 11 Sand Martin perched on the fence in the Doctor Who dock. Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Cetti’s and Blackcap singing in Grangemoor Park.

Wheatear on the barrage rocks very buff on the breast, Greenland species?
Lsr Scaup present again just outside the reserve by St.David’s Hotel boardwalk.
7 Sand Martins and 1 Swallow over the dock by the side of Doctor Who and a dozen or so hirudines low over the bay.
Blackcap male showing well in Grangemoor Park from the boundary path near the Staples end.
Cardiff Bay
Lsr Scaup just outside CBWR by St.Davids Hotel boardwalk at 10:20. 2 2nd yr Med Gulls, last seen on The Marl, now on the Taff by Channel View. Lots of Sand Martins including 2 Swallows.
Hamadryad Park
c.30+ Sand Martins including at least 1 Swallow over the Taff just u/s from the flyover (A4232) by Hamadryad Park.
