Beautiful male Yellowhammer in garden Cadwgan Road, Craig Cefn Parc today, also seen on10th December.
Kenfig to Pink Bay
3 Whimbrel on grass next to Sker Point, 5 near Pink Bay. 4 Wheatear Pink Bay, 2 Pool fields (all 6 female). Red Crested Pochard on Kenfig Pool. A dozen Swifts over pool/east fields. Cettis Warbler seen n/e corner of pool, Reed Warblers heard. Cuckoo seen north side of pool, with lots of Meadow Pipits around it. Lapwing further over. Plenty of Whitethroats and Stonechats.
Portobello, Ogmore

Goldeneyes at least 21 female and 17 males, some head throwing. Female Sparrowhawk flew through. Goosanders 2 male 1 female. Cormorants 7, Redshanks 2, Curlew 1. 2 Grey Wagtails, at least a dozen Pied Wagtails and similar numbers of meadow pipits. Pair Stonechats.
Great Northern Diver
Present at Llwyn Onn from 9-1, always keeping its distance from the banks, ate a couple of crayfish.
Cosmeston
Bearded Tit in the persistent rain at 10.25am, in reeds behind the info boards on the boardwalk. It looked like it intended to come out of the reeds but flew off with a ‘ping’ when some pushchairs approached. It was worth a soaking to see one for the first time!
Rest Bay
19th Saturday 10-12am. 12+ Meadow Pipits, 1 Rock Pipit, at least 450 Golden Plover, 2 Knot, oystercatchers, 12 fly by Wigeon.
