4 Whimbrels were on the beach with 30-40 Oystercatchers this evening.

Several Chiffchaffs singing this evening in the scrub near Mill Wood / Derwen Fawr recycling site.

At least a dozen Sand Martins and a couple of Swallows were hawking over Brynmill Park Lake this afternoon.

40-50 Redwings were feeding in the grounds of St. Paul’s Church at 7.30 a.m., which must be more than the total I’ve seen all Winter!

Pluck Lake: 13 Tufted Ducks and a Mute Swan.

Half Round Pond: 2 Cormorants, 1 Grey Heron, 3 Tufted Ducks, 1 male Goosander.

A Little Egret was on the beach between Blackpill and West Cross at 1 p.m.

Red Kite seen over Dowlais at 2 and 2.15 p.m. (or 2 different ones). C. 50 Canada Geese on Cyfarthfa Park Lake.

Redwings flying in over Sketty at 10.30 this evening; Tawny Owl calling in Singleton Park.

A female Eider was at Blackpill at high tide on Friday and Saturday evenings. There were also a couple of Med. Gulls and a Wheatear on Friday.

A Little Egret was on Swansea Beach, moving between Singleton Park and St. Helen’s at 1.15 p.m.

3 or 4 Med Gulls were preening with B.-H. Gulls in Singleton Park in the rain yesterday morning, before they were chased off by a Sparrowhawk. Tawny Owls have bred successfully there again this year. A juvenile Green Woodpecker was in Clyne Woods.

2 little egrets and 4 Whimbrels at Blackpill this evening. Tawny Owl calling calling in Singleton Park. Several Brimstones and numerous Peacocks in Clyne Woods, plus a small twittering of Swallows overhead and 1 Fox.

1 male Blackcap in Brynmill Park. Half-a-dozen Chiffchaffs singing there and in Singleton Park. Brimstone in Clyne Woods.

15 Redwings and a Ring-necked Parakeet in Singleton Park. In Clyne Woods was my first singing Chiffchaff of the year, as well as 2 Brimstones and Red Admiral, Small Tortoiseshell, and Peacock butterflies.

A Stock Dove this afternoon was unusual. A few Redwings still around.

9 Purple Sandpipers on beach at base of cliffs (groups of 2 and 7), with 2 Turnstones; 2 Choughs and a Kestrel overhead.
