A male Goosander was on Fendrod Lake early this morning.

2 Redwings flew in to roost at Singleton Park this evening – first I’ve seen this year.

Caswell Bay – Buzzard being mobbed, several Mediterranean Gulls coming to bread with B.-H. Gulls, Wheatear and juvenile Stonechat came down on rocks; 1 Silver-washed Fritillary in Bishop’s Wood.
Blackpill – 2 Wheatears on beach in evening; 1 each of Brimstone and Painted Lady on Buddleia.

A female Goosander was on the River Taff opposite the Millennium Stadium on Monday evening about 6.30.

My first Chiffchaff of the year was singing in the sunshine this afternoon near the Clyne Recycling Centre.

At dusk today, 20-30+ Pied Wagtails gathering in Oystermouth car park, before going to roost in evergreen bush opposite the Co-op.

4 or 5 Redwings feeding on white-berried Rowan (notable, as there have been very few Redwings here this year), plus tame Nuthatch taking food from the hand:

 

There was a female Stonechat and 1 Dartford Warbler on the path between Brandy Cove and Pwll Du Bay this afternoon.

20-30 Redwings in Singleton Park just now – first I’ve seen here this year.

Numerous Redwings heard flying over off the sea between West Cross and Sing. Hosp. – 8 – 9 p.m.

P.M. – 4 Red Kites, 2 Choughs, 1 Wheatear, 1 Kestrel, family party of 4-5 Stonechats, Ravens, Meadow Pipits, Linnets; 1 Wall Brown, 2 Painted Ladies (1st I’ve seen this year). Still large numbers of House Martins at their colonies in Rhossili.

Male and female Tawny Owls calling in Clyne Woods at dusk, plus several Foxes near the recycling centre. Earlier, a nice ‘bird’ was spotted at Blackpill – Ellie Harrison from BBC’s ‘Countryfile’ programme:
