More info on this morning’s Nightingale. The bird was perched up in an elder on Radyr Floodplain for c.5mins at ST141802. It then flew into dense cover but, despite an hour’s search, it was sadly not seen again (DJJ).

Hi Dan, what a superb record! I live just opposite the river from Radyr floodplain and know the site. Whereabouts from the cricket pitches? It’s unlikely to be there tomorrow but worth a check….
Thanks ‘edandaud’. I was pretty chuffed! The bird was on the Whitchurch side of the floodplain well away from the cricket pitches. It was in the area of hawthorn/balsam opposite Whitchurch rugby club. I’ll be there again in the morning!
