The bird was feeding very actively and wouldn’t keep still, which is problematical for my digiscoping set up; a dslr would probably have produced better results. However, the light was great and the bird was approachable with care, so no complaints.
You should have gone in! I was about 20m away and it wasn’t concerned by my presence, although I had to approach stealthily.
It was still there at about 10am today, but has since been reported as absent.

The DLSR was absolutely useless from the Car Park even with 600mm on board needed to be at least 50m closer. Plus the heat haze!!!
