In yesterday’s gale a juv Pom/Arctic Skua was off Port Eynon Point yesterday along with a trickle of Gannets, Kittiwakes and larger numbers of Guillemots. 15 Common Scoter were feeding off the point in stupid conditions! A scan of the estuary between Crofty and Loughor this morning failed to pick up strays in the aftermath of the storm, the only thing of real note being a colour-ringed Black-wit among the 285-strong flock.

Glad you caught up with that Barry, I’m pretty sure I saw it or another like it yesterday just West of Dalton’s point in among at least 250 BlackTwit flock. All I saw was yellow and green and not the combination. What was also magnificent was a murmuration of several thousand Starling, I estimate up to 7,000 in a frenzied feeding mass across the marsh at Wernfrrwd early yesterday morning.
It’s been appearing at Penclacwydd on and off since 2nd Oct, but it’s the first time I’ve seen it Glam-side.
