This is what now greets walkers trying to get to the RGW from the coast road. It seems to have been placed there by the farmer, who doesn’t want walkers, especially with dogs on his land. I can go along with that to a degree, but this is a public footpath and part of the All Wales Coastal Path system. If any CCC employees are looking, please look into it, as to its removal.
Hmmm “get orff my land” eh? Might try & find a contact e-mail to send the pic to.

I’ve eMailed him to draw attention to this.
This has been placed here by the owner to keep certain people off with there horses. The walk is accessible. You go over the side instead of the end which certain persons keep removing the retainer bars.A Gwent farmer rents these fields from Neals to feed his cattle.John Neal is constantly removing unwanted horses from here. The walk is in no way impeded, although it looks that way,i use it all the time. Can’t blame the bloke really.he lets me cover a great deal of his land as do most of the local farmers.
I did warn, along with CJ the Gwent Recorder, when we met with the project team who were laying out the line along which the coastal path would go, that all access routes to the RGW & PGW from the coast road should be done in metal & concrete with large boulders to stop any would-be trespass by people wanting to use it for motorbikes, fly-tipping & fly-grazing. The wooden styles and the complete lack of any really solid fences to block these forms of environmental vandalism has panned out just as we said it would. The council should make safe these access points for people wishing to enjoy these areas, so the farmer/landowner should not have to go to these measures to try and stop this nonsense. The council know full well where the problem lays and should do something about.
I remember showing some officials around the area and pointed out the obvious unforseen future problems which to my mind were inevitable. We who use these areas regularly are simply overlooked, when we are only used to tick the boxes and every bit of ignorant procedure can take place with an OK that’s fine attitude. The coastal path if anything has caused nothing but bird disturbance.Motorbikes, quads and dogs run amok, which i’ve witnessed at high tide roosts. The greatest amount of destruction to my knowledge was the blatant disregard for a nesting Cetti’s.To be honest i’ve given up on any hope for the whole area.
