Water Rail showed well this morning feeding around margins of pond behind the visitor centre,as well as the more common species a female Ring Ouzel was on the field viewable from the visitor centre.
i was at rspb conwy with local rspb group from sutton coldfield on sunday and we all had a great day with plenty of waders –redshank , dunlin , curlew among others and from one of the hides had a great view of a water rail. it came out of the reeds and the best view i`d had of water rail.
tuesday , a friend and i were at lake vyrnwy , llanwddyn , and it was beautiful with snow on the mountains and lower ground too . lots of birds on feeders seen from hide and included chaffinches, nuthatch , coal and marsh tits, siskins and more . we went over the dam and got great views of red kite soaring around and 2 ravens. great day .
Nice pic for the 2013 Report Jeff. We don’t get many good Water Rail pix.
