Port Eynon (again)

4 Brent Geese on the sea, in the lee of Sedgers – departed as the tide rose.

Also, a Black Guillemot at the edge of the sea at high-tide, just below the Youth Hostel.  However, within 10 minutes of the sighting, the bird was attacked by two juvenile Herring/LBB Gulls, and last seen floating upside-down (so believed killed) out in the centre of the bay.

    1. Hi Barry
The Brents I could not easily tell, as I was quite distant (viewed from the patio at my parent’s place up on the hillside). I have seen Brents on the beach before, but as the tide came up there was no more shelter for them and they left before I could get down there, so I’m hoping they’ll be back over the next couple of days.
I’ll have to post the pics of the BG when I get home on Wednesday as I don’t have a card reader here.
      Cheers
      Dave
