Furthermore to the goosander reported yesterday, today a male and female were fishing on the Taff just up from the entrance by the start of Cowbridge Road East. Spring was very much in the air despite the rain showers, with several willow warblers and chiffchaffs singing and a couple of blackcaps in the trees just past the walled garden and cafe.
Hi Rob,
The one I saw yesterday seemed as if it may have had a damaged right wing, and was struggling to fly.
Sorry to hear that Jeremy, I regularly walk the Taff at lunch time because I work nearby so I’ll keep an eye out.
I’ve put some video footage of it on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7dJnzSfNZY
