Lots of tipits displaying, several willow warblers and whitethroat, pair of stonechat, male bullfinch, and briefly a cuckoo before it was sent packing by a pipit.

Hi Rob-I have regularly birded the Common for past 7 or so years and this has been the best tree pipit year ever , a stonechat pair fledged young per(MCP) seen yesterday-Sadly in those 7 years whinchat have all but gone , stonechat declined considerably and redstart nesting also down (not helped by the farmer on adjacent land cutting all dead wood from the Oaks where they have nested in past ).Thankfully the cuckoo is hanging on …
First time I had been up there, but thought it was a great spot. Good news about the stonechat fledglings. Was keeping an eye out for Whinchat but had no luck that visit.
