What part of the common were the Garden Warbler Trevor?
Hi there
Birds show best early on -From the main car park ,looking onto the common to right located ST18365 87505. Pretty sure breeding as singing there for a few weeks . Take the main bridle path up to the stone farm wall and there is an unofficial footpath dropping down from the wall corner -seen in the scrub /trees to left of the path .
Next one -From the car park walk East along the road to the metalled path onto the common (sign informing of the legal status of vehicles ) walk down to where there is a metal gate .At this point look back onto the common and located in isolated scrubby trees ST191 865 .Bit hard to pinpoint on the map but has been singing here for weeks too.
Finally on far side of the common , most easily accessed from Garth Lane .Walk up past Garth Farm and there is an area with green fencing , go just beyond this and there is a blank notice board just beyond this look to your right into the trees .I am positive that they have bred and have young as lots of alarm calling ,agitation and holding territory on Saturday when a cat appeared! -Occasionally the Garden warblers fly across into an isolated willow with scrub .ST 18365 87505. I have had best views with this one but need to get in the bracken to peer into the trees!!
Hope this helps
