Apparently Ceri Jones saw a Hawfinch this morning, in the trees on the right of the gravel path going towards the Med Village, after the end of the boardwalk there. Nice one Ceri ! Saw one there in Oct 2005 by W lake. I think this is the first record since then.

John, There was one at CCP 6/03/2007. Yours wasn’t on the database, nor in EGBR for 2005.
Thanks Jake. I wonder how that slipped through the net, esp as I was EGBR editor even then! Not sure at the time whether I was required to supply a description as it was away from the usual location. I’ve a feeling I did write something but it’s lost in the wilderness now. Anyway for the record it was 29th Oct 2005 and the note on my database says “flew out of trees SW corner of W lake with Redwing and flew off E”. Didn’t check prev reports before I commented and couldn’t check MM as I don’t have it any more.
