I have been recording the birds in the garden since 1998 and this morning saw a first visit by a redpoll. Not sure which one but it was noticeably bigger than the siskin it was sharing the feeder with. Apologies for the quality of the picture – it was a grab shot through the kitchen window (and it was raining and gloomy!).
Redpoll in the garden again this morning (Saturday 23 April). Only seems interested in the feeder though – it would be nice if it was to pose on a tree or something!

The Redpoll has been back to the garden on several occasions today but it has been too dark for taking pictures. The forecast is brighter for tomorrow so hopefully I can try again.
Janet (also in Creigiau) had a siskin today but no redpolls. Can’t recall if she ever has had them. Where about in Creigiau are you @mmburth?

Currently have 6-8 siskins feeding in the garden, but haven’t seen the redpoll since Saturday.
So Is Janet – in Parc y fro! Perhaps you two should compare notes sometime.
