An hour or so around CBWR/Hamadryad Park this morning produced 8 species of warbler , Sedge , Reed , Cettis , Garden , Blackcap , Whitethroat , Willow and Chiffchaff , a couple of Swifts and lots of Sand Martins .

Wow, Rich, 8 warbler species in such a small refuge area in an urban area is really impressive! I heard Sedge nearby along the Taff by Grangemoor Court but I wasn’t on a proper bird/nature walk, just visiting.

Hi Paul , yes it can be a very productive site . The single sedge was giving good views at the dipping pond , a whole family of reed warblers were near the boardwalk , not in reeds funnily enough, and the garden warbler was in front of St.Davids Hotel in close proximity to a pair of blackcaps . First chance I’ve had to get out for a while so very enjoyable .
