Snipe numbers on south side of island up to 25 this morning.It is essential to have a ‘scope to view some of the birds.

Little Egret numbers at the island roost have increased today to 20.Still way short of last year’s maximums.

1 or possibly 2-Chiffchaffs in lakeside trees.I had two separate sightings of single birds.11h00-12h00

16-Little Egrets flew from the island roost today at first light.

A greater Spotted Woodpecker was drumming today from a tree on the island at 17h00.Haven’t heard drumming in October before!!

Adult Whitethroats feeding fledged juveniles near the pond.

this morning at Hendre Lake; Reed Warblers,Sedge Warblers,1-Spotted Flycatcher,lots of Whitethroats,Cetti’s Warblers and Blackcaps.

7-Great Crested Grebes this morning,the most I’ve ever seen at this location.
