A black-tailed godwit was feeding along the river bank among all the redshanks and dunlins this afternoon. Also there were at least 50 pintails in the estuary with many more out on the open water.

The slav Grebe was showing well in the centre of kenfig pool at about 12:30. Also Brent geese at Aberthaw and Fieldfare and GWE still at Flemingston moor.

Forest Ganol and Rhumney Great Wharf Cardiff

27 species seen today in a walk round a couple of Cardiff sites. The highlights being Hawfinch at Forest Ganol feeding in the Hornbeam trees and Peregrine, Kestrel and Fieldfare at RGW.

A Cuckoo was on Garth mountain this morning at 09:30. It then flew North towards Pentyrch and i didn’t see or hear it again for the remainder of my walk.

There is a pink-footed goose at Parc slip northern Wetlands viewable from the hide. It spends a lot of time in the grass to the right of the first hide but occasionally comes out onto the water.
