Sanatorium Park/fields
Following regular sightings of adults (male and female) during the Spring, male and femal with two fledged juveniles present today. First breeding in this locality that I am aware of in the last forty years.

Reed Warbler and Whitethroat singing, Grangemoor with Cetti’s just outside and near Penarth Road Bridge.
Sanatorium Park, female Stonechat in same locality where male present on a number of occasions recently. Whitethroat singing.

Male Stonechat regularly this last week and seen carrying food this morning. If nesting I think this would be a first for many decades in this locality.

West Cardiff
Willow Warblers singing in Caerau and Michaleston-le-Pit. Blackcaps and Chiffs widespread along Ely River Trail as well as Michaelston-le-Pit through to Leckwith.

Female Stonechat..quite a rarity in this locality over the last thirty years.

First singing Blackcap at Leckwith this morning.

Chiffchaffs singing variously all along the Ely Trial from Grangemoor Park to St Fagans.

Bit later than others..first Chiffchaff singing this morning East of Leckwith Hill.

Pair of Goosanders on River Ely–first of winter at this site.
Starling/Cosmeston
Plenty of people enjoying the Starling murmuration at Cosmeston yesterday (c 2,000 birds?).
7 Shoveler (3 drakes) and 7 Wigeon (2 drakes) on the small lake.
Woodpigeon/Canton
Continued ssw movement to ssw-lighter than yesterday but c 13,000 in one and a half hours over Canton.

Heavy ssw movement this morning over Canton with c42,000 in two and a quarter hours. Birds still passing at end of counting period at 9.45 am.
