Mynydd Dinas
First Nightjar of the year this evening, wasn’t expecting it especially as it was only 7 o’clock but flew across a clearing. Also plenty of whitethroats, meadow pipit, stonechat, willow warblers and chiff chaffs.
SEO at Kenfig
Two short eared owls at Kenfig yesterday evening, over the dunes. On the pond goldeneye, tufted ducks, gadwall, pochard and great crested grebe. Four buzzards and a peregrine over.
Kenfig Pool
Water rail showing well from the hide this evening. Nothing else of note.
Baglan
The snow elsewhere has brought lots of Lapwings into Baglan, they are feeding along the verges on the A48 and the runabout by Mcdonalds. Also plenty of Lapwings (20+), Fieldfares (first of the winter around here) and Redwings in Baglan Primary School field, some also ventured into my garden.
