The Lawns > Salmon Leaps [E. Cardiff]

We had a successful outing to a new location for most folk this morning. Club member Tim Adcock took 22 of us through his local ‘patch’ which was a there & back walk of about 1.3 miles each way along Cwrt yr Ala road which runs from Caerau down to the Salmon Leaps at Michaelston-le-Pit via an area known as The Lawns. The road is actually a wide track for most of the way. It seemed pretty quiet but we managed to log 42 common species, although Tim’s more or less guaranteed Spotted Flycatchers appeared to have left, having been present 2 days earlier. There weren’t many photo opportunities but I’ve posted a few below – they’re all annotated individually.

Click here for the list compiled by Tim – thanks Tim.
