Very busy today.Gangs of youths in the water near the bridge,same as reported previously.

A flock of 100+ gulls overhead seemed to be catching insects of some description.I would have thought it too early in the summer for it to be flying ants.

Took a walk to the Swift tower this afternoon.There were no Swifts using the tower but up to about 40 were flying in the vicinity,encouraging news.

9-Mute Swan cygnets all growing nicely.One cause for concern,only one adult was with them,no signs of the missing swan.

A pair of Mute Swans with nine cygnets.Also two pairs of Great Crested Grebes both with two juveniles.

Hendre lake april 16th Mallard with 13 ducklings

Lamby Lake april 17th 10 to 12 Hirundines all Swallows.

I did an hour’s sea watch from the hill away from the sea-front.Only birds of note were 6-Kittiwakes,2-pairs of Cormorants flying down channel,could of been Shags but too far away for certain ID. 15h00-16h00,yesterday.

My son,who is not a birder,has text me to say there are two Great Northern Divers in the above location and lots of birders there.14h10

At Ogmore yesterday,28th,4-Goosanders 2m+2f,2-Common Gulls,1-Common Sandpiper,6-Goldeneyes 4m+2f and 3-Rock Pipits 10h15-12h30.

At Cwm Cadlan a very brief sighting of either a Marsh or Willow Tit not enough of a view to confirm which,but head black so not a Coal Tit.Unfortunately no G.G.S. to be seen,maybe a bit early yet.10h30-14h30.
