Plenty of warblers, blackcap,willow, chiffchaff, garden, whitethroat.. 6 whimbrel on the beach.. distant raptor probably a kestrel.. lots of skylarks and mipits.

Good bird movement this morning.. lots of greenfinch, goldfinch & chaffinch around… Many swallows flying east bizarrely.. no med gulls seen only herring & lbb’s. Several Ravens making a lot of noise..

Trip led by Ed Hunter … Highlight was red rumped swallow (what a bird!..) still being reported there at roost first thing this morning.

Been several ringed gulls in Bracelet Bay this past week.. My old friend Med gull E825 (been visiting us since 2006 from Antwerp) A Finnish BH gull ST285095 (still waiting the history) and today another Belgium Med gull E913701this time without the plastic DARVIC ring which makes i.d. so much easier..

Looks like the kittiwakes on the pier are having a good year again on whats left of the “temporary ledges”.. Is this South Wales’ only kittiwake colony on man made structure??
Bracelet Bay Sea Watch this afternoon
Started with me finding a small pod of 3 harbour porpoise foraging in the outgoing tide race.. Nice! They were being followed by plenty of manxies, several gannets, 1 fulmar, kittiwakes.. And through that scope view flew a skein of 6 common scoter.. Wow.. Plenty of other stuff going up and down channel.. Several GBB gulls, lots of auk species.. 3 rock pipits flew in off the sea.. 1 mead gull in the car park.. along with several herring gull. Raven overhead

Oxwich South pond
nice views of the overwintering ringtail harrier this afternoon.. Also present, buzzard, little grebes, mallard, couple of mute swans, pair of teal,singing Cetti’s, and several chiffchaff,.. We also thought we’d heard and seen a willow warbler
