Redwing, siskin (14), reed bunting (6), gs woodpecker, mistle thrush, grey wagtail, chaffinch (23), jackdaw (22), swallow (7), dunlin (2) and skylark (14).

Ring ouzel on Mumbles Hill this morning. Bird seen in flight – probably flushed by dog walker. Bird did two circuits of the top, last seen flying toward the mast. No indication it left the area, but I couldn’t refind it. Looked like a 1st winter.
Also 3 blackcap (2m, 1f) and a few chiffs. A few flocks of crests about. Difficult to pin down in the holm oaks. All birds I have got on in the last week have been goldcrest.
A few swallows over the hill, and some very light vis mig of swallow and house martin at Snaple Point, Langland. All birds east.
across the barrage with the grandkids to Norwegian Church for drinks & cakes 🙂 On the way back in the wet – 6 Turnstone on inner shore and 1 Grey Wag, also 1 Pock Pipit. Full grown family of G-c Grebes by the locks and 1 GCG just outside.

Lesser Scaup at far end of reserve from boardwalk plus single Pochard. Water Rail showed well in Hamadryad Park ‘pond’.
Plenty of Redwings and Blackbirds about, Skylarks and Chaffinches over. But the highlight was a fly over Little Egret – the first one I’ve seen here since March 2011 (GJJ).

A shoveller was new in with the 2 teal at the “wild” end of the lake today.
Numerous Redwings heard flying over off the sea between West Cross and Sing. Hosp. – 8 – 9 p.m.
L-B Dowitcher still on Rhaslas around 1.30pm ,still windy but dry!
Afternoon stroll on Rudry Common -3 Fieldfare (first of the autumn here) and around 30 Redwing , mainly in the wooded areas around the common, also a nice count for here of 20 Reed bunting , all together in willow scrub to East of the car park. A couple of chiff chaff still.
Late afternoon. 1st yr drake Goldeneye, drake Lesser Scaup, 180!! Canada Geese, Water Rail calling and Cetti’s singing.
Long-billed Dowitcher still present at a very wet and windy Rhaslas this morning and the Lesser Scaup was at CBWR. (DJJ/GJJ)

Otherwise chiffchaff relatively common in all sheltered areas, and the odd blackcap.
Oxwich early am, 4 chiffchaff, 1(f) blackcap, goldcrest (6), snipe and water rail in the marsh, and redwing (5-7), siskin (10+) and redpoll (1) west.
With Graham Holmes a quiet Kenfig 2 dunlin on east pool shore singles of Widgeon and Shoveler on the pool
pretty quiet and initially damp on the GBC monthly walk. Highlights 1 Snipe, 1 Green Pecker, 1 Redwing flew over, 3 Chiffchaff.

2 Redwings, Leckwith early morning. One over Canton. 20 Canada Geese over.
While working in Beddau this afternoon 20+ Redwing flew over heading towards Llantrisant Common.
